Taking the First Leap in my Health Journey by Reading Always Eat After 7PM by Joel Marion

Intermittent fasting has been helping in the last week that I have been doing it, so I cannot wait to see how reading this book will enhance my fasting habits. This is important for me, because my family has a long history of diabetes, and I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) so my hormones are more likely to cause me to become insulin resistant. Not only does Joel Marion tell you how to combat insulin resistance, he gives recipes for eating desserts and snacks! After I read this in the book, I was SOLD. 

Health and wellness is extremely important for me, because of my preexisting conditions and family history. In addition to my PCOS, I was at risk for prediabetes when I was younger; however, my change in eating habits saved me and helped regular my blood sugar. In my last year, I have gained some weight I am hoping to lose, as a result of grad school stress, COVID 19 stress, and just life stress! Hopefully, Always Eat After 7PM can help to save me from myself once again. Currently, after reading this book for the past month, I have been eating a lot less sugar than I previously was eating because I am learning about how increased sugar can lead to deeper rooted issues, such as heart disease, kidney malfunction, limb amputation and diabetic comas. My father had diabetes and ended up losing his foot, which led to losing his leg, kidney and heart issues, and eventually it cost him his life. This book, and the dietary changes detailed inside are soooooo useful to keep me motivated to change my life before it spirals out of control.
